This is a nice 1-3/8 x 3-1/2 x 4-5/8 inch silver plated stamped metal desk box for cigarettes which was probably purchased as a souvenir by a visitor to or one of the competitors in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.

The hinged lid of the box is stamped with the famous Olympic bell bearing the words ICH RUFE DIE JUGEND DER WELT and in the lower right corner with the words OLYMPIA BERLIN • 1936.

The inside of the bottom of the box is lined with removable pieces of mahogany wood, typical for boxes used to hold cigars or cigarettes. The box stands on four globular hollow metal feet. 100% original to the Third Reich period in Germany and in nice condition.
