Item 1 is an original 2-3/8 x 5-1/8 inch punched ticket to the 8 am and 2 pm riding competition at Reiterplatz at the Reichssportfeld on 12 August 1936. This ticket originally cost 7.50 Reichsmarks, a great deal of money at the time.
Item 2 is a beautiful 12 x 24 inch multicolor 2-sided advertising map of all the Olympic venues of the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games as well as the area of central Berlin surrounding the Tiergarten. The venues include the Reichssportfeld, the Olympic village, Olympic Stadium, the Marathon route, and the Regatta course. There is also a map indicating the transportation routes for reaching each of the venues.
Three panels of this beautiful Third Reich map consist of direct advertising for the firm of Otto Boenicke in Berlin, easily the best known German cigar maker of the Third Reich. Otto Boenicke was patronized by many leading Nazis and even created a brand of cigar named for the "Generalfeldmarschall", Luftwaffe General, Nazi Hunting Minister and Nazi Air Minister Hermann Göring. The advertising shows the various addresses for Boenicke cigar shops in the capital and throughout the Reich. There is also an ad for special Kampfspiel Olympia Zigars and Zigarillos.
