| The Office of Schönheit der Arbeit of the DAF decided what constituted kitsch (trash) in Hitler’s Germany and what constituted good industrial design. Simple but elegant style was considered to be the classic form by the DAF, and companies that produced it were allowed to use the MODELL DES AMTES SCHÖNHEIT DER ARBEIT cogged wheel and swastika logo as a seal of approval. In 90% of cases essential form was almost always the same - simplicity of line, substantial but not bulky pieces in a color that was almost always entirely white. For those who could afford it, SCHÖNHEIT DER ARBEIT porcelain sets were available in basic white complemented by hand painted designs. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This rare tea set was manufactured by the company Eschenbach in Bavaria and is particularly desirable because it is complete, and because of the delicate hand painted flowers that decorate each piece. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This splendid all original Eschenbach porcelain tea set for two consists of two tea cups with saucers, a tea pot with its original lid and a creamer with its original matching saucer. All the pieces except the tea pot lid have the MODELL DES AMTES SCHÖNHEIT DER ARBEIT [based on the Model from the Office of Beauty of Labor of the Deutsche Arbeitsfront] cogged wheel and swastika logo on the bottom and the crown Eschenbach Bavaria company logo. Other than a couple of tiny, virtually indiscernible chips in the bottom rim of the two cups we would rate the condition of the set as absolutely excellent. There are no other chips or cracks, and there is no wear to the hand painted designs. |

| Most collectors have never seen any piece of SCHÖNHEIT DER ARBEIT Nazi porcelain that was anything other than pure white, or white with a contrasting band of color. That this beautifully hand decorated set should have survived into the 21st century is absolutely amazing! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
