This is a fine, virtually unusued example of the rare 6 x 8-1/4 inch, 166 page, heavily illustrated hard cover book ,,Die Organisation der HJ - Amtlicher Gliederungsübersicht der Reichsjugendführung der NSDAP’’ (The Organization of the Hitler Youth - Official Summary of the State Leadership of the HJ of the Nazi Party) as of 1 August 1937.

That rather formal title is sort of a official recap of the contents of this book. In fact, it is vastly more readable than the title sounds. The book delves into every aspect of the Hitler-Jugend from its formative days through its domination of German youth movements by 1936.

The only German youth movements not included are Catholic and Jewish associations.

The book then explains the leadership model of the organisations of the HJ, DJ, BdM and JM at the Gau, Obergau, Gebiet, Obergebiet, Bann, Unterbann, Gefolgschaft, Schar and Kameradschaft (and equivalent units) right down to the last ten children in Germany.

The special organizations such as the Marine, Motor, Flieger, Nachrichten and Spielscharren of the Hitler Youth as well as the HJ-Streifendienst are well explained as are the general activities of the Hitlerjugend.

The middle section of the book Die Organisation der HJ contains the name and addresses of every office and unit of the Hitler Youth in Germany from the Reichsjugendführung at Kronprinzenufer 10 in Berlin to Jungmädel Unit 30, Saar-West on Bahnhofstrasse in Merzig, Germany.

The final 40 or so pages of the book contain advertising for anything that might be of importance to HJ members from flags, uniforms and boots to Coca Cola and toothpaste.

A fine, rare book in outstanding condition.
