Many students of World War II and Third Reich history are aware that the Allies dealt very harshly with certain Nazi paramilitary organizations after the German surrender in 1945. Among the most harshly dealt with were the senior leaders of the Hitler Youth. Hitler Youth Leader Baldur von Schirach was sentenced to and served 20 years in Spandau Prison in Berlin for example, for his "crimes against humanity". The SS and the Hitlerjugend organizations were considered such a threat in the years after World War II that anything that even featured the insignia of either organization was outlawed in Germany and Austria. It is no wonder that 70+ years after the Allied denazification program in Germany and Austria began there is little but the most common of Hitler Youth material to be found and virtually none to be found on display.

EamAG is the name of the manufacturer of these two porcelain plates (AG is similar to Co. in English). Located in the Schönwald part of Wunsiedel, Bavaria, Germany (burial place of Nazi Party Deputy Führer Rudolf Hess), an area widely known around the world for the superb quality of the porcelain manufactured nearby. The surrounding area is a virtual Who's Who of the very best manufacturers of fine china in Germany and the Czech Republic such as Rosenthal, KPM, Hutschenreuther, Bauscher, etc.

Featured in the center of these two remarkable pieces of Nazi porcelain is a stunning color picture of five BdM girls in uniform, two of which are surrounded by flowers and looking at a map with their HJ leader in the foreground. The other three are dancing around a flagpole with a Nazi banner at the top.

Beyond personal identity documents, and knives, badges and a few uniforms it is hard in the 21st century to imagine that a minimum of 10 million German young people were involved in the Hitler Youth. It is only rarely that a few pieces of the rarest infrastructure material like fine porcelain come on the market.

Both in terms of the quality of the color illustration of the BdM girls, and the fine, pure white porcelain used to manufactured these Third Reich pieces with gold rims, the quality is outstanding. No cracks, no chips.
