| The photo above shows the Feld- herrnhalle Memorial and the Braunes Haus is in the picture on the left. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The first part of this lot consists of a Nazi era set of 2-3/4 x 3-5/8 inch view cards of München, the Capital of the Nazi Movement. Each of the 32 separate cards has an accurate description of the pictured scene printed on the back. They were published by Carl Krueck in München (Munich). The cards show all the famous sites in München: the Nazi Honor Temples, the House of German Art, the Hofbräuhaus inside and out, the Rathaus on the Marienplatz, the Odeonplatz with the Feldherrnhalle (site of the failed 1923 Nazi Beerhall Putsch), the Feldherrnhalle Memorial, the Führerbau, the Braunes Haus, Bavaria Monument, the Deutsches Museum with new Hitler eagles on the corners of the roof, the Frauenkirche, Karlstor, etc., etc. This is probably the best set of view cards on München, die Hauptstadt der Bewegung. |

| The second part of this lot is a rare series IV set of twelve genuine photographic view cards of Nürnberg, the City of Reichs Party Days. This set is specifically views of the Reichsparteitaggelände only. Each authentic STOJA sepia toned photo card measures 2-3/4 x 3-5/8 inches, has a deckel edge and has the scene number and description printed on the back. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| All subjects are in very sharp focus and include a huge Schmidt-Ehmen eagle, the Reichsparteitag Honor Tribune, a model of the German Stadium (being built to hold an incredible 400,000 people!), the Luitpold Arena, the Zeppelin Field, the Congress Hall (caption says it will be ready in 1943), the Wreath of the Führer, etc. The red paper folder is scotch taped on the inside, and the photos are in absolutely excellent condition. This is easily the best set of STOJA photos of Nürnberg. Published by Paul Janke. |

| The photo at the right shows the open end view of a model of the enormous German Stadium. The groundstone was laid and excavations were made for the footings but the project did not get underway before the war began. The satdium would have held over 405,000 people and would have been the largest stadium on earth. Little evidence of it remains today. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
