In the hands of any Allied Intelligence Officer after World War II, this 5-7/8 x 8-1/2 inch hard cover, two-ring bound Anschriftenverzeichnis der NSDAP (Address Book of the Nazi Party) would have led to the seat of power of every responsible person in the government of Germany from Adolf Hitler to the Hitler Youth, State Shooting School on the Obermaßfeld über Mainingen.
The book was printed specifically for the internal use of the Nazi Party at a very high level and the transmission of information from it by speech or writing was forbidden.
The 250+ page book was made as a two-ring binder so that as pages were updated they could be sent out to replace the pages that originally came with the book. In perfect orderly German fashion, many pages were added to this book over time but the original pages were left in place as a reference.

The SS listings of course, list Pg (Parteigenosse or Party Member) Heinrich Himmler as the Reichsführer and SS-Gruppenführer Pg. Karl Wolff as the chief of his personal staff. The listings go on to show the SS-Hauptamt (August Heißmeyer), Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt (Günther Pancke), Sicherheitshauptamt (Reinhard Heydrich), Verwaltungschef SS (Oswald Pohl), Verwaltungsamt (Frank), Inspektion der SS-Verfügungstruppe (Hausser), SS-Totenkopf Standarte (Theodor Eicke), SS-Junkerschule Tölz (Freiherr v. Schele), SS-Junkerschule Braunschweig (Altvater-Mackensen), LSSAH (Sepp Dietrich), etc., etc., etc
Advanced researchers will find the information on the offices of the Kanzlei des Führers, Stellvertreter des Führers, Reichsorganisationsleiter, NS-Frauenschaft and various Hauptamt information to be absolutely fascinating. The minutia in Nazi Party departments like the Rechtsamt of the Reichsschatzmeister is amazing. Office 7 was in charge of administrating only Blutorden und Ehrenzeichen. Their office was at Arcisstraße 8 in München and the Geschäftsführer der Blutordenskommission was Stellenleiter Pg. Otto Schneider. Who knew?
In a perfect world this book would be reprinted with English sub-headings and made available very widely at a reasonable price to collectors everywhere. It would be an enormous help to anyone attempting to write or speak intelligently on the subject of NSDAP organization. Unfortunately, this is the only example of the Anschriftenverzeichnis der NSDAP that we have ever found or been able to purchase. Very good condition.
Far, far rarer than the Organisationsbuch der NSDAP, the Anschriftenverzeichnis der NSDAP was a strategic problem for the Nazis at the end of the war, and every copy that could be located was destroyed for obvious reasons. This specific example of the book is stamped on the title page and on the dividing page between 121 and 122 as having come from the library of Der Reichskommissar für die Besetzten Niederländischen Gebiet - the office of Dr. Arthur Seyß-Inquart.
Exactly how it managed to be returned to Germany is unknown but the Seyß-Inquart library was probably withdrawn from Holland when the Allies invaded in September 1944.
This book is complete through the Third Edition and we do not think there ever was a Fourth Edition (a 4th official mailing of address updates). To anyone who has not seen the book, it is difficult to explain its depth, but there are around 750 names in the name index. These are the most prominent Nazis of them all from Gunther d’Alquen, to Dr. Josef Goebbels, to SS-General Karl Wolff. Following their names are numbers indicating the pages in which there is more information on the in the rest of the book. Information about Nazi Party official Josef Seydel for example, is found on 14 different pages.
In section III of each Gau page, there is a list of the SS-Oberabschnitt and SS-Abschnitt in that Gau along with the name of their SS Leader, their very specific address and the phone number. For example in Gau Berlin, SS-Oberabschnitt Ost lists SS-Obergruppenführer Sepp Dietrich as the leader and Rotheburgstrasse 12 in Berlin-Steglitz (not the address of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler) as his address. Naturally, this sort of information is crucial to any real research on the subject of Sepp Dietrich. In Gau Wien, SS-Gruppenführer Dr. Ernst Kaltenbrunner is listed as the leader of SS-Oberabschnitt Donau at Parkring 8, not in the Hof, on Ballhausplatz or at one of the other prominent government address in Vienna.
