This is a fine used example of the rare 6-1/4 x 9 inch magazine SS-Leitheft Year 7 (1941) Volume 4a as published by the Reichsführer-SS, SS-Hauptamt-Schulungsamt in Berlin for members of the SS. Like all issues of the SS-Leitheft, the 36 page magazine provides photos and articles of general and specific interest to the SS.
The lead article in this magazine is The Joy of Water providing a history of cleanliness.

A far more typical article is one of four pages about the SS and the sport of fencing and how SS-Gruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich, starting with a few SS men before the 1936 Olympics, built the SS into a fencing powerhouse of more than 300 participants. Heydrich was the head of the Fencing Section of the Nationalsozialistische Reichsbund für Leibesübungen or National Socialist Sport Association.
Twelve of the 36 pages are full-color pictures, two of which are in full-color. The caption under the full-color picture of the blond 10 year old is “Clean in both Body and Soul”.
A rare book in very good used condition.
