The 6 x 9 inch softcover book has 96 pages, most with black & white photos. Mein Soldatenjahr 1935-1936 im X. Armeekorps starts with a full-page portrait of Adolf Hitler, accompanied by part of a speech the Oberste Befehlshaber der Wehrmacht gave at the 1935 Nazi Parteitag der Freiheit in Nuremberg. This is followed by a full-page portrait of Generalfeldmarschall Paul von Hindenburg.

Mein Soldatenjahr 1935-1936 im X. Armeekorps (My Soldier Year 1935 - 1936 in the 10th Army Corps) was published in 1936 by Verlagsbuchhandlung Broschek & Co. of Hamburg. The Hanseatic City of Hamburg was where the outfit was formed mid-May 1935.

Generalfeldmarschall von Blomberg
General der Kavallerie Wilhelm Knochenhauer was the Commanding General (also in charge of Wehrkreis X of Hamburg), and he wrote the foreword in which he proudly commemorates the first year of the X. Armeekorps as part of "the Wehrmacht of a free Germany." General Knochenhauer states that "every member of the outfit will proudly remember this first year" and that the book was produced as a commemorative.
The few pages of text consist mostly of a historical timeline for important National Socialist events during the years 1933, 1934, 1935 and 1936, the duties of the German soldier, followed by a map of Wehrkreis X, and then page after page of black & white photos of Nazi Generals (Von Blomberg, Von Fritsch, General der Kavallerie Wilhelm Knochenhauer with Hermann Goering, Feldmarschall Von Mackensen and more), Nazi Propaganda Minister Dr. Joseph Goebbels visiting the men of X. Armeekorps, Gauleiters, monuments, maneuvers, parades, vehicles, soldier life, artillery practice, communication and machine gun troops, cavalry men, etc.

In the back there are a few blank pages to write down memories or for photographs. None have been filled out in this example of Mein Soldatenjahr 1935-1936 im X. Armeekorps. The sources of the photos are mentioned on page 96 and are by Presse-Illustration Hoffmann, Scherl, Weltbild, Hapag Hamburg, newspapers as well as private photos and troop photos published with permission of the Generalkommandos des X. A.K.

During World War II, the X. Armeekorps participated in the Wehrmacht invasion of Poland in September 1939, followed by the spring 1940 invasion of Holland and Belgium and in 1941 in Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union.

This 83 year old commemorative Nazi photo book for men of the 10th Army Corps of the Wehrmacht is complete and has no odor. Some damage to the cover and pages have yellowed around the edges.  It comes with the rare pink advertising sheet from the publisher (shown above), explaining that the book was published for former AND current members of the X. Armeekorps.
