This is an excellent empty (but opened) 4-7/8 x 6-1/8 inch special philatelic envelope mailed from the United States to Germany in October 1928 aboard the famous German airship LZ127 "Graf Zeppelin" by Air Mail.
Beneath the lower Washington DC cancelations on the front of the envelope are two 20 cent and one 5 cent US Air Mail stamps, and the stamps in the upper right corner are 10 and 50 cent US stamps.
