This is an excellent example of the rare 5-7/8 x 8-1/8 inch, 56 page, heavily illustrated book ,,Die Juden in Niederdonau’’ (Jews in Lower Austria) by Otto Henke as published by the Gaupresseamt der NSDAP Niederdonau in St. Pölten, Germany in 1939.

Niederdonau or Lower Austria is the ancestral home of the families of both the mother and father of Adolf Hitler, 23rd Chancellor of Germany.

This book, published by the Nazi Party, purports to be a scholarly study of Jews in Niederdonau from the earliest times over a thousand years ago. According to the book, Jews were not content to be an accepted part of society in Lower Austria, but continued by any means available to squeeze out German farmers and colonize their lands.

This process reached its apex by 1938 when for example in Marchfeldgemeinde, Christian church properties were surrounded by parcels half of which were owned by Jews.

The text is supported by 16 pages of historic photographs of material bearing on the subject.
