This is a 5-7/8 x 8-1/4 inch (folds to 4-1/8 x 5-7/8), four-page Third Reich identity and dues document issued by the Gauverwaltung Köln-Aachen (Gau Administration of Cologne - Aachen) to a worker from another Gau to be used during the period of his employment in the western part of Nazi Germany.

The document was issued to Johann Demary of Neukirchen on 26 March 1939. Demary worked for an excavating company, Max Adrian of Köln-Bayenthal, probably digging the footings for Westwall (Siegfried Line) bunkers.

A very unusual DAF Nazi identity document in fine condition. From the collection of Josephine & Ray Cowdery, authors of the full-color Third Reich identity document guidebook, “Papers Please!”.
