Arno Breker
Arno Breker sculpture
Arno Breker (1900 - 1991) was certainly without equal as a sculptor in Germany during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler. His work from that period was admired as much by Germany's enemies as by Germans themselves. While most sculptors who worked during the Nazi period never worked again, Arno Breker was able to make the transition from "Nazi sculptor" to "sculptor" after 1945. Because around 90% of his work was desctroyed during or immediately after the war, Breker began again in the 1950s to rebuild his reputation as well as his life's work. He sculpted many of the notables of the day and his work was exhibited widely from Munich to Los Angeles.

The brochure we offer here was produced for an Arno Breker exhibition at Gallerie 10 on the Getreidemarkt in Vienna, Austria in 1982. In color and black & white it shows the artist at work and many of his post-war pieces. Good used condition.
