NAZI BOOK ON ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS

Nazi architecture book
,,DIE BAUGESTALTUNG’’
(CONSTRUCTION ARRANGEMENT)
ADVICE REGARDING TRACT AND
CUSTOM-BUILT HOMES.
A 1940 PHOTO BOOK BY
KARL ERDMANNSDORFER
Nazi farm
This is a nice example of the big 8-1/4 x 12 inch, 184 page very heavily illustrated hardcover book ,,Die Baugestaltung’’ (Construction Arrangement) advice regarding tract and custom-built homes, a photo book by Karl Erdmannsdorfer as published by Georg Callwey in München (Munich), Germany in 1940 (third expanded edition).
This book was published as a guidebook for practicing architects in the Nazi Germany of Adolf Hitler and covers subjects such as tract housing, custom-built villas, farm houses, single family houses, multi-family housing, guesthouses, etc. Some of the architectural elements covered are roof forms, gables, stucco, windows and shutters, exterior doors, interior stairways, chimney tops, exterior lighting, additions, bays, porches, shop fronts, garages, trellises and fences and walls.
The final 24 pages are sectional views in very great detail depicting various architectural elements. That section ONLY has some dampness damage along the tops of the pages which were once stuck together. The name of the Reichskulturkammer (RKK or Reichs Chamber of Culture) member/architect owner of this book is stamped on the front end paper.
The cloth spine is partly split on both the front and back sides.

A rare Nazi architectural book in good condition.
