The 1940 magazine is the October issue of the 8-1/4 x 11 inch, 52 page Das junge Reich. This heavily photographic magazine begins with full-page pictures of Baldur von Schirach and continues with photo features and articles of material of interest to Nazi Youth. Very good condition.
There are two complete issues (April and July of 1938) of the big 9 x 12 inch, 32 page monthly Das deutsche Mädel (the German Girl), the magazine of the Bund deutscher Mädel in der HJ. These heavily photographic magazines were the primary source of news and information for German girls in the Hitler Youth.
This lot includes one issue of the rare 9 x 12 inch, 32 page heavily illustrated BdM magazine Unser Mädel (Our Girls). This is a special issue of June 1938 apparently published for circulation throughout the new and enlarged Grossdeutsches Reich. Of special interest, the magazine includes reviews of the films Hitler Junge Quex, Triumph des Willens and SA Mann Brandt.
Very good condition.
They contain articles and photo features on new uniforms for the BdM, Hitler’s triumphant entry into Austria, handwork exhibitions, historic ruins in Greece, activities in the Jungmädellager, advertising, etc.
