This is an original Nazi era souvenir photo set of the town in Ober Donau where Germany’s 23rd Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, was born in 1889, Braunau am Inn.
There are nine 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 inch (7 x 9 cm) printed black & white pictures of the small village on the Inn River, the main square called the Adolf Hitler Platz (with a swastika at the end) and the Geburtshaus unseres Führers (the house in which Hitler was born on 20 April 1889).
One of the pictures includes the Customs Office where Hitler’s father Alois was employed in 1889 and another one shows the town of Simbach (across the Inn from Braunau), where Eva Braun once went to convent school.
These simulated photographs mechanically printed on heavy paper come in their original brown folder which still contains the small blue sticker of the store in Braunau where it was sold during the Third Reich. The folder says that originally the set contained ten pictures of the Geburtstadt unseres Führers. Very good condition.
