A VERY RARE CASED BOOK,
PARTICIPANT’S PASS AND
PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHS
(INCLUDING SOME OF HITLER)
FROM THE 12th GERMAN
SINGING CLUB FESTIVAL IN
BRESLAU, GERMANY IN 1937

The 12th German Singing Club Festival (Deutsches Sängerbundesfest) in Breslau, Germany in 1937 was a very major gathering, held from 28 July through 1 August and attracting participants from around the world. It was hosted by Nazi Party Führer Adolf Hitler and State Minister of Propaganda Dr. Joseph Goebbels, and was the location of the famous photo series showing Hitler touching the hands of members of the San Francisco, California delegation waving American flags (photo marked with a yellow arrow below).

This grouping, from one of the members of the delegation from Braunau on Inn (Hitler’s birthplace) consists of:
1) the rare cased 9 x 11-3/4 inch, 164 page, very, very heavily illustrated hard cover book (with its original dust jacket!),
2) that participant’s Festkarte or Festival Pass to events,
3) bus ticket number 2180 to get from Braunau am Inn to Breslau, and
4) six 2-1/4 x 3-1/4 inch private black & white candid snapshots of the Braunau delegation, of Hitler and his SS men, of SS men surrounding a city square, the event hotel, etc.

The beautiful rare, sepia toned book was published in late 1937 by C.A. Weller in Berlin and has a full-size replica of the tinnie or Day Badge created for the Songfest printed on the hard cover. The Festkarte or pass measures 5-3/4 x 8-1/4 inch (folds to 4-1/8 x 5-3/4 inches) and has a big red, white and black 2 Reichsmark revenue stamp on the back panel.

The six candid snapshots were made with a very good camera and show a lot of detail right down to the SS daggers worn by the men on the city square.

Two of the pictures show the pretty dirndl dressed ladies of the Braunau Liedertafel (glee club) and one of those two shows a blond haired Hitler Youth boy and a man in uniform (the man in uniform is probably the Festkarte owner Alois König) at the front.

A very rare grouping of highly specialized Nazi material, in fine condition.
