This is a beautiful hand carved piece made to hold books on a table or desk. It dates to the period of the Third Reich and we bought it in Germany but there is no date on it anywhere.
The hand carved oak leaf and acorn ends of the 1-1/4 x 7 x 17 inch solid wood shelf fold up on brass hinges and slide away from each other to form a shelf for books about 22 inches long.
The piece would be a perfect accessory to any collector’s office or a display of period home front material. Very good used condition.
