NAZI CYANIDE CAPSULE CONTAINER
A SMALL BRASS
CONTAINER WITH
A PRESS-FIT TOP
MARKED T & S SS-79-42
We brought this very interesting item back from Germany in November of 2006. It is a brass container apparently manufactured from a German shell casing, with a knurled bottom rim and a slotted press-fit cap that also has a knurled rim. The cap is engraved wit the letters T & S SS [runes] - 79-42 and the bottom is marked 8 39 P162 S*.
The container with its cap pressed on measures 45 mm or 1-3/4 inches in length. There are two tiny tents near each other on one side of the case, but otherwise it is in fine condition.
The case is approximately 10 mm in diameter by 40 mm long and somewhat tarnished where the cap fits over the open end. It appears to be identical to the cyanide vial container recovered from the Nürnberg jail cell of Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring after he poisoned himself in October 1946.
We have attempted to show this brass container from every angle possible. We can provide no further provenance for this item but we can state unequivocally that it has not been altered in any way since we brought it to the United States from Germany in November 2006. Very good condition.
This Nazi brass cyanide capsule container is **SOLD**
