BERLINER HOF HOTEL MILK PITCHER
A BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE
BLUE AND WHITE CHINA
MILK PITCHER FROM THE
,,BERLINER HOF HOTEL
| This is a lovely, authentic old 4-1/4 inch tall white china pitcher from the Hotel Berliner Hof, from the Third Reich period. The bottom of the pitcher is about 3-3/4 inches in diameter and the sides are hand decorated with blue designs and the lettering Berliner Hof. |
| The name Berliner Hof carries the connotation of an old Berlin courtyard, and thus like Hotel Der Deutsche Hof, it was a popular name for better quality, small, quiet hotels and restaurants throughout Germany 60 or 70 years ago.
There is no name on the bottom of this pitcher to tell what company made it, as was often the case with institutional china in Germany at the time.
The type and style of the pitcher indicates to us that it is about that age, and we bought the piece in Germany many years ago. No chips, cracks, crazing or discoloration.
Very nice condition.
