This lot consists of the Deutsche Illustrierte issues dated 9 March 1943 and 25 April 1944 with large cover photos featuring a Waffen-SS cavalry man and a tank commander on the East Front. Each issue measures 11 x 14-3/4 inch and consists of 8 pages of photo features, interesting reading, advertising, jokes and cartoons. The newspapers were published in Berlin and sold on newsstands throughout Germany.
Just to the left of the masthead is a box in which it says “When you’ve finished reading Deutsche Illustrierte send it on to a soldier at the front.” Good used condition.

Inside is the story of Benito Mussolini’s rescue by Otto Skorzeny and his commandoes.
