Offered on this USMBOOKS web page is a lot of TWO rare original issues of Deutsche Kraftfahrt in fine condition. Deutsche Kraftfahrt was the official magazine of the Nationalsozialistische Kraftfahrkorps (NSKK or National Socialist Motor Corps) since 1931 and was published in Hannover. The editor was Professor Theodor Oppermann, a publisher, politician, member of the Reichstag and NSKK Obergruppenführer (he committed suicide on 6 May 1945 while imprisoned). The 8-3/8 x 11-3/4 inch magazines are dated June 1939 and July 1939 and contain some spectacular photo content on their beautifully printed 252 heavily illustrated pages!

Superb photo coverage of the Motor-HJ, the East Prussia car rally of May 1939 (NSKK-Korpsführer Hühnlein was a guest), and articles about DDAC maps, speedboats, NSKK youth educational programs, motor vehicles of today, touring by car in summer, helping fellow motorists in case of accidents, NSKK dispatch motorcyclists, the importance of car maintenance and frequent service, German freeways, the use of large capacity trucks in the forestry business, motorizing the Wehrmacht, and in-depth photo features on the city of Hannover, the Sudetenland, and the Bayerische Ostmark.

Both issues have news and announcements from different NSKK chapters all over Nazi Germany, new traffic laws, as well as death announcements of NSKK members.

These two Deutsche Kraftfahrt magazines also have wonderful period advertising by Shell, Esso and Mobil, tire manufacturers Dunlop and Continental, Auto-Union, Adler, Ford Taunus and Hanomag automobiles, the DDAC auto club and their maps for members, Leuna synthetic fuel, Triumph, Zündapp and NSU motorcycles, Telefunken car radios, Sekurit glass, Bosch spark plugs, semi-truck and busses manufactured by Krupp, Neophan sunglasses, Hensoldt binoculars, Rolleiflex cameras, camper manufacturers, as well as travel advertising for tourists by large and small cities, seaside and mountain resorts.

These fine 83 year old heavily illustrated Nazi automotive magazines were carefully saved and are complete and in fine, little-used condition. Both magazines have a tight spine and no odor, and nothing written in them.

We have no idea where one might find other examples of the unique photo content of these two 1939 Deutsche Kraftfahrt magazines. Rare!
