This is a very nice example of the 8 x 7-7/8 inch, 210 page, very heavily illustrated soft cover official guidebook to the exhibition ,,Deutschland’’ with a Kurt Schmid-Ehmen eagle on the cover. The Deutschland Ausstellung was held from 18 July to 16 August 1936 at the exhibition halls at the broadcasting tower (Funkturm) in Berlin, Germany.

Held during the Summer Olympics, the exhibition Deutschland was the brainchild of Nazi Propaganda Minister Dr. Goebbels and was a perfect opportunity to showcase the beauty and industriousness of Germany as well as the incredible successes achieved in the first three years of Hitler’s Third Reich.

After an introduction by Dr. Goebbels and a general overview, the book is set up with a double-page spread for each of the German Gaue or states. There are special pages for great projects and industries like the railways, the Reichsautobahn, aviation, the postal system, the government printing office, German Labor Service (RAD), etc., etc.

There are floor plans of the exhibition to show where each of those entities had their displays.

A final section in the book lists all the exhibitors as well as advertising (some even in English) from many of the greatest industrial firms and service organizations in the country.

Firms such as Deutsche Reichsbahn, WMF, ALA, AEG, Tobis, Hohner, Mix & Genest, NSU motorcycles, Opel, Femina, Exakta, Erika, Vansaack, Hochtief, Deutsche Bank, Askania, Sekurit, Siemens, Dresdner Bank, etc.
