The Nazi era monthly magazine ,,Die Mappe” (The Portfolio) was published during the Third Reich by G.W. Callwey in München (Munich), Germany. It circulated among professionals in the painting, deesign and decorating fields and contained articles and advertising of interest to those who applied graphics to the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, stages, signs, automobiles, etc.

This specific 8-1/2 x 12 inch, 20 page issue from July 1937 has an illustrated article on the Wappen or coats of arms of the Gaue or states within Third Reich Germany.

Supplementary to that article is a large 22 x 32 inch pattern for those who wished to paint a 28 inch Nazi Hoheitszeichen (the eagle and swastika emblem of Nazi Germany) or 9 inch coats of arms of eight different Gaue (Bayern, Franken, Schwaben, Pfalz, Württemberg, Baden, Thüringen and Sachsen).

A rare piece in very good condition.
