This is a nice example of the rare 8 x 10-1/2 inch, 128 page very, very heavily illustrated hard cover book EIN FLIEGERKORPS IM EINSATZ OST (A Flying Corps in Operations East) as published by Nazi publisher F. Bruckmann Verlag in München (Munich), Germany in 1943.
Following a full-page portrait of and foreword by General of the Air Force Bruno Loerzer, the hundreds of captioned photos in this book provide an excellent account of the daily lives of ground and flight crews on the East Front. There they maintained, armed and flew Ju87, Ju88, Me110, Ju52, He111, Fieseler Storch and other Luftwaffe aircraft that bombed, strafed, dive-bombed and destroyed elements of the very powerful and well-armed Russian enemy all along the East Front in 1941.
Superb photos include an excellent series on Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves winner Oberst Moelders, others of Von Bock, Kesselring, POWs, etc. Lots of combat equipment depicted in detail.
EIN FLIEGERKORPS IM EINSATZ OST is among the best books of this type produced in Germany during World War II. The spine has been scotch taped but otherwise in very nice condition.
