German-American Bund pro-Nazi rally
Nazi advertising German-American Bund membership
Billed as a “Pro-American Rally” by the German-American Bund, the George Washington birthday bash was dubbed an anti-Semitic “pro-Nazi rally” by America’s media. This 6-1/4 x 9-1/2 inch size, 32-page softcover booklet has a color cover and contains scores of ads from all sorts of businesses (from furniture dealers to bars to barbers). Many of the advertisers stressed their German-ness. There is a unique half-page ad for the German-American Bund’s Camp Nordland at Andover, New Jersey.
Official German-American Bund aspects of the booklet are the program for the day’s events (music, speeches, announcements, Bund Song, Colors, etc.), a section on “What The German-American Bund Stands For”, “An Explanation Of The German-American Bund [Nazi-style] Salute”, An Explanation of the “Order Division” (which, like the German SS protected Bund rallies), “Purposes and Aims of the German-American Bund”, “Application for Membership in the German-American Bund”, etc. Perfect condition.
