Each or the arm and ring emblems is marked 925 on the back and made in deep relief showing the details of the armor and the thumb and fingers. Each has two hollow rivets on the back to center it in the holes on the shields.

The three different shields are hand-marked I, II and III on the back. The shields lie flat on any surface but are curved slightly from side to side, so they were made to fit on something, probably about 8 inches in diameter with a curved surface.

We acquired these jewel-like pieces many decades ago in the hope that we might find what they were designed to be used on. We never did so we have decided to offer them for sale as a lot. We have been tempted to polish them to show them in the best possible way in our photographs, but decided against it. They are exactly as we acquired them many years ago. The buyer will have to polish them to show their real beauty. You will never see another set!

This lot consists of three virtually identical old 28 x 30 mm heavy silver shields with the mailled arm and ring emblem of the family of Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring which were made a long time ago to decorate something, BUT WERE NEVER USED. The silver shields have a very fine pattern of wavy horizontal lines in the background of the silver under a layer of bright red transparent cloisonné. Cloisonné is not paint or enamel, but powdered glass which is baked onto the silver background at a very high temperature and then polished.
