This is a wonderful 4-3/4 x 7-1/2 inch nicely formed piece of German Third Reich home front material! It is a white stamped sheet metal shopping list with blue names of forty common household products next to small slots with sliding black buttons in them. At the top in German it asks the question, "What's needed for the household?"

The black buttons are normally at rest in their respective blue fields as there is an adequate supply of each item on hand. When something begins to run out, the black button is moved into the white field next to the name of the item as a reminder that more should be bought.

The list of necessities includes everything from bread to onions and shoe polish to vinegar. Marked Ges. Gesch. at the bottom, which meant "Patent Pending" in Germany during the Third Reich.

Can be hung or tacked to the wall. Very good used condition.
