 This is an extremely rare, absolutely original example of the 9-1/2 x 12-5/8 inch, 36 page, illustrated softcover Reinhard Heydrich memorial book published in very limited quantity by the Reichssicherheitshauptamt in 1943, at the direction of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler. According to the Ulric of England Research Unit, the book, “is rare indeed with only a handful known to have survived the war”. |

It is known that each Gauleiter received an example of the Heydrich Memorial Book from Himmler and that police leaders, honorary members of the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) and all leaders of the Allgemeine SS and Waffen SS each received a copy. Three thousand copies of this book were sent to Party Chancellor Reichsleiter Martin Bormann for distribution to Kreisleiters, higher party leaders, leaders of NSDAP associations, etc. |

| Most examples of this book were destroyed at the end of World War II by their owners or by Allied denazification commissions. Because of its appearance, the cover of this book may not be shown in public in Germany to this day!
The content of the book is spectacular, featuring full page photos of Reinhard Eugen Tristan Heydrich in portrait, Heydrich saluting, Heydrich’s office in the RSHA in Berlin, Hradcany Castle in Prag where Heydrich had his office as Acting Reichsprotektor of Bohemia and Moravia, and Heydrich’s death mask.
The text of the book includes Heinrich Himmler’s moving eulogy at Heydrich’s funeral in the Reichschancellery in Berlin, Hitler’s statement at the funeral, and a good deal of the biography of the man who was perhaps the most ardent Nazi of them all - Reinhard Heydrich.
