The 9 x 12-1/2 inch envelope and its contents offered here was sent from Hitlers New Reichschancellery on 24 September 1942 to Mr. Johann Häntschel in the village of Schönlinde near Rumburg. It contained Chancellors Adolf Hitlers certificate of congratulations on the occassion of the golden (50th) wedding anniversary of Mr. Häntschel and his wife. The words in the rectangle below the circular seal on the address label say that the envelope requires no postage for delivery to addresses in Germany. |

The red and white embossed seal (above) is Adolf Hitlers personal Der Führer und Reichskanzler Reichschancellery seal as found on the back of this envelope. The certificate that came in the envelope is shown below and bears both the embossed official eagle and swastika seal and a facsimile signature of Germanys 23rd Chancellor, Adolf Hitler. The certificate conveyed Hitlers heartfelt best wishes to Mr. Häntschel and his wife, as well as his hope that the couple would live a long and healthy life and spend the twilight of it surrounded by their family. |

| The envelope has been sliced open at the end with the seal on it.
