Probably the most sought after book in the series of 30 or so Heinrich Hoffmann photo books produced during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler is called Me 109 der siegreiche deutsche Jäger (Messerschmitt Me 109 the Victorious German Fighter). This book was part of a printing produced as a Sonderdruck or special edition for Messerschmitt AG.

With more than 120 spectacular full-page and half-page photos, the book follows the history of the design, manufacture and deployment of one of the most renowned and successful fighter planes of World War II - the Messerschmitt Me 109.

Following a full-page portrait of Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, the book pictures Professor Messerschmitt's earlier successful aircraft such as the S 10, M 17, M 18, M 19, M 20, M 35, Taifun, etc. There are many pictures of Willy Messerschmitt with engineers, test pilots, high ranking Nazis and even Hitler and Hitler Youth boys.

There are photos of the Messerschmitt School (shaping the future work force), the Messerschmitt engineering department, testing labs, etc. There are lots of pictures of the construction of assemblies as well as the final assembly of the Me 109. This 96-page, 7-5/8 x 10-½ inch softcover Heinrich Hoffmann photo book is so rare that few collectors of books in the series even know it exists. This rare original First Edition Me 109 Hoffmann Bildband is in very good condition.  The binding is tight and the glossy interior pages are in very good used condition. The dust jacket is an 80+ year old original which was taped in several places by a previous owner to avoid further deterioration. Name of previous owner on the upper right corner of the title page.
