Recently purchased in Germany, this is a very nice example of the very scarce book Deutschland in Paris (Germany in Paris) published by Heinrich Hoffmann Verlag in München (Munich), Germany with an introduction by Hitler’s architect Albert Speer and a foreword by Nazi Reichswirtschaftminister Dr. Hjalmar Schacht. The soft cover book measures 7-1/2 x 10 inches and has 128 pages.
Naturally, the subject of the World Exposition in Paris in 1937 covered a wide range. Among the 200 or so photos are in-depth views of the entire German Pavilion at the exhibition.

German industrial power and innovation took center stage at the 1937 World Exhibition in Paris with notable exhibits of Mercedes-Benz cars and engines, science, electronics, toys, glass, ceramics, optical equipment, art, furniture, musical instruments, etc.
The last few pages in the book show pictures from the “New Reich” such as Hitler's alpine home the Berghof above Berchtesgaden, the Honor Temple in Munich, etc.
The ubiquitous swastika emblem of Nazi Germany is as expected, evident everywhere in the background, in flags, wallpaper, iron railings, windows, etc.
This is one of the rarest of all Third Reich Hoffmann photo books. It comes with its original dust jacket which shows some wear. The 71 year old book itself is in very good condition.
