| This particular book is dedicated to a squadron member and autographed by its General (above).
The first page of this book is a special dedication page showing that this book was awarded to Obersturmführer Hafner on the Group Staff of the Horst Wessel Squadron (red ink) and signed by the General of the Staff (blue ink). Both names would be very easy to research. |

Facing the title page of the book is a full-page frontispiece depicting the namesake of this SA Fighter Squadron, Horst Wessel. The bust was the work of Standartenführer Glöckler of Berlin. Following the title page there is an introduction by Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, an Order of the Day from SA Chief of Staff Viktor Lütze and the message passing the Horst Wessel Squadron over to Hitler. There is also the message of acceptance of ,,Geschwader Horst Wessel by Hitler, and the authorization for unit personnel to wear the cuff title ,,Horst Wessel on the sleeve of their uniform. That section of the book is followed by a 20 page history of the life and untimely death of SA Sturmführer Horst Wessel.

| Between pages 42 - 276, are the biographies of each of the SA martyrs of the Nazi Movement in Germany accompanied by a wonderfully done, artistic pencil rendering of the martyrs uniformed bust. In a few cases where no face was available there is an equally well-done pencil rendering of that mans grave or grave marker. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
