The JB or Illustrierter Beobachter was the Nazi Party weekly photo newspaper published in München by Verlag Franz Eher Nachfolger, but read by just about everybody all over Germany.

This is the second heavily illustrated Sonderausgabe or Special Edition dated 7 April 1938 published a few days ahead of the important plebiscite in Austria. On 10 April 1938, 97% of Austrians voted for reunification with Nazi Germany.

There are illustrated statistics about the positive economic changes since the National Socialists came to power in Germany in 1933. Passengers on a KdF cruise ship are shown waving at the passing Panzerschiff Deutschland and the back page has a full-page Heinrich Hoffmann photo of Adolf Hitler shaking hands with Reichsstatthalter Dr. Arthur Seyss-Inquart and an ad urging voters to vote YES on 10 April (shown left).

This historical 83 year old Special Edition of Illustrierter Beobachter is complete and in nice used condition, folded through the middle.

This original 10-3/4 x 14-¾ inch issue of Illustrierter Beobachter has a Heinrich Hoffmann photo of Adolf Hitler on the cover page. Other photos show Nazi Propaganda Minister Dr. Joseph Goebbels surrounded by SS men collecting money for the WHW, as well as members of the Wehrmacht feeding the poor during a Nazi charity event.
