The special edition of the JB or Illustrierter Beobachter shown left was printed after the German invasion of Poland in 1939.
The heavily photographic content is filled with pictures of Nazi generals and Wehrmacht troops involved in the historic start of World War II, some of it better than found in books on the subject! There are maps of Poland showing hte progress of the German military in September 1939, overjoyed ethnic Germans welcoming the German troops, Polish civilians fleeing, Ghetto Jews, bloody civilian battle victims and battle damage, Polish POWs, Adolf Hitler visiting the battlefield and wounded Wehrmacht soldiers, Hermann Göring with Luftwaffe pilots, Hitler with U-Boot personnel in Wilhelmshaven, the liberation of Danzig, and Hitler at the big victory parade in Warsaw. This issue ends with pictures from Hitler's big speech at the Reichstag in Berlin on 6 October 1939.
This very historic 70+ year old photo material is
in very good condition.

The GOERING LOT of Illustrierter Beobachter issues shown above consists of three issues dated 10 March 1938, 19 September 1940 and 1 May 1941 and all have Generalfeldmarschall Hermann Göring on the cover. Subjects covered in these magazines are: Tag der Luftwaffe (Day of the Luftwaffe) in Berlin, the Interior of the Führerbau in Munich, Franco in Spain, the bombing of London, Göring visiting the front at the Atlantic Coast, Gibraltar, young Fascists in Italy, Hitler's 52nd birthday at his HQ near Rastenburg (contains a great photo of Field Marshals Göring, von Brauschitsch and Keitel in fancy uniforms with their batons), the war in the Balkans, the Japanese battle against opium in China, pilots of the Italian Air Force, etc.
Also contains short stories, cartoons and advertising for jewelry, cigarettes, lingerie, porcelain, skincare products, typewriters, etc. Complete and in good condition.

The HINDENBURG LOT 2 shown left contains two August 1934 Third Reich newspapers published after the death of Paul Ludwig Hans Anton von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg on 2 August 1934.
Hindenburg was of course, a Prussian field marshal and politician who served as the second President of Germany from 1925 to 1934.
The two issues of Illustrierter Beobachter have extensive photos about his life, military career and service during World War I, with Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1918, with Adolf Hitler, with his wife and grandchildren, at Tannenberg Memorial, his death bed, his death mask by Professor Josef Thorak, etc.
These 77 year old Nazi publications also contain sport news, crossword puzzles, cartoons, and wonderful advertising. No odor, no pictures cut out.

The JB or Illustrierter Beobachter was the Nazi Party weekly photo newspaper published in München (Munich) by Verlag Franz Eher Nachfolger, but read by just about everybody, all over Germany. Each 10 x 15 inch issue contained about 24 pages of the very latest news, photographs and information gathered from around the world. The excellent paper was published every Thursday and sold for only 20 Reichspfennigs, the equivalent of 12 US cents.
