JAGERSCHAFT PORCELAIN CUP |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
AN AMAZING PORCELAIN
JÄGERSCHAFT CUP COMPOSED OF HEAD MOUNTS, ANTLERS, GAME SCENES AND STAG FEET |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is a spectacular piece of German porcelain measuring 5-1/4 inches in diameter at the base by 7 inches tall. The bottom is hollow and the cup on the top is supported by two sets of stag antlers. Between the sets of antlers are deeply sculpted heads of a fox, a deer, a boar and a rabbit, each in a garland of oak leaves. Between each pair of antlers at the bottom is the foot of a stag, and between each pair of feet is a scene taken from stag hunting.
The cup is white porcelain with a gold rim and the base is very artistically colored in antler colors. The whole thing was exquisitely done by a master porcelain craftsman in Germany.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Over the years it has been used to drink a toast to many of the animals successfully hunted, and in the process the tips of some of the antlers have been broken off. One of the stag hoofs was broken off and repaired. The antler between the fox and the rabbit head has also been broken and repaired, but we provide very close-up photos which reveal every bit of damage.
The only markings on the inside of the base are the number 133. scratched into the porcelain under the glaze and the number 13 written in black under the glaze. We have not attempted to clean this cup in any way and the sculpted animals show plenty of brown smoke residue.
If you are a Nazi Jägerschaft collector or interested in items connected to the Jägermeister Hermann Göring and his activities, this would be a perfect accent piece! While damaged from use, it simply shows honest use and age. It is not defaced and the minor old damages do not in any way detract from its rugged beauty. Good condition, exactly as shown.
