The Führer Bestowed the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross Upon...
Nazi General
General der Infanterie Albrecht Schubert
This wonderful 5-3/8 x 7-7/8 inch, 108 page very heavily illustrated soft cover book was published in 1943 by Wm. Frick & Co. Verlag in Wien (Vienna) as the first volume of a projected two-volume set. We have no idea if the a subsequent volume was ever published. The actual name on the front cover of the book in gold blocking is Der Führer Verlieh das Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes an: ("The Führer Bestowed the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross Upon...").
The book is composed entirely of full-color or black & white portraits of Army Knights Cross winners of the German 17th Army Corps District on right hand pages.

On the facing left hand pages there is a biography of the person shown and the story of the action for which the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded.

Ritterkreuz winner Gutmann
Nazi Feldwebel
Among the 50+ Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes receipients included in this splendid book are General of Infantry Karl Eibl, General Hanns-Ulrich Back, Oberst Walter Gorn, Major Hans Gradl, Generalfeldmarschall Wilhelm List, Hauptmann Bellegarde, Oberleutnant Franz Berger, Feldwebel Rudolf Berger, Generalleutnant Rudolf von Bünau, Leutnant Hermann Danzer, Leutnant Hermann Ritter von Ingram, Major Franz Kohout, Feldwebel Alois Lehrkinder, Major Walter Poessl, General der Panzertruppen Erhard Raus, Hauptmann Otto Stampfer, Hauptmann Wilhelm Weidenbrück, and many, many others.
Fascinating reading and superb photo portraits of very brave men.
