This lot consists of FOUR original oversized examples of the very heavily illustrated, full-color magazines called Kunst dem Volk (Art of the Nation) published by Adolf Hitler’s friend and personal photographer, Heinrich Hoffmann, in Wien (Vienna) during the Third Reich.
Germany’s 23rd Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, considered Hoffmann to have perfect taste in matters of art and appointed him to oversee many aspects of fine arts in Nazi Germany. His magazines were considered to be the final authority on the subject.

These 4 original oversized 9-1/4 x 12 inch Nazi era Kunst magazines have a total of 216 pages (the September-October 1944 issue is missing 4 pages). They are in good used condition and do not have any offensive odor.

Each issue includes a splendid color cover, many color reproductions of Third Reich and older art (usually Germanic), black and white or duotone reproductions of art and sculpture, gobelins, daguerreotype photography (example shown left), advertising and reports on large exhibitions such as the Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung (Grand German Art Exhibition) in Munich (even the 1944 exhibition!). Most issues contain several nudes and pictures or sculptures related to National Socialist Germany.
