This is a very rakish, well-made Nazi Luftwaffe Flak Regiment Schirmmütze or visor cap in size 55 with no mothing. It was purchased by a third party from the estate of the American veteran who brought it back to the United States after World War II, and we bought it from him.
The grey and black cloth and the red piping is in very good original condition. The cap is complete with its original lining, sweatband, plastic sweat protector and even the name tag of the man who owned it. The hat was sold by Ernst Müller of Friedrichstrasse 81 in the Nazi capital of Berlin. The name tag shows it was owned by a soldier from Berlin, Flak Kanonier Karl Volz. The satin lining is sweat stained as you can see in our pictures and the sweatband is broken and detached from the edge in the back.
A very good looking Nazi Luftwaffe cap made of better than average fabric that would be perfect for any uniform display.
Because we did not buy this cap directly from the estate of the veteran but through an intermediary we can’t attest that it is 100% original. We believe that the cap band and buttons have been replaced, but if they have, they were replaced with the right type.
