This is an excellent example of the very rare 6-3/4 x 9-1/2 inch, 80 page, very heavily illustrated hard cover book ,,Marschbefehl: Mähren - Mit dem VIII. Armeekorps ins Protektorat’’ (Marching Orders: Moravia - With the 8th Army Corps in the Protectorate) as published at the direction of the Generalkommando VIII Armeekorps in Breslau, Germany by Verlag Erich Klinghammer in Berlin in 1939.

The book tells the story in words and pictures of the part played by the Wehrmacht VIII Armeekorps under General of Infantry Ernst von Busch in the occupation of Bohemia and Moravia, “the high point in the history of National Socialist Grossdeutschland” according to General Busch, pictured wearing his Pour Le Mérite or Blue Max.

The book is unique in that copiesof the actual “Marching Orders” and Orders of the Day and Proclamations are shown interspersed among photos taken during the action.

Eight Army Corps invaded the northeatern corner of the country of Czechoslovakia, advancing to the south in the direction of Olmütz (Olomouc) as part of a seven army assault.

The country was quickly occupied in mid March 1939. In the end, the German Landsers are loaded in Deutsche Reichsbahn boxcars and headed for home.
