If you are a collector of Nazi swords, dagger or other Third Reich edged weapons manufactured in the renowned steel city of Solingen, Germany, this example of Mein Kampf would be a fitting addition to your collection. Many of the biggest names in Nazi daggers had their manufacturing facilities in or around Solingen, including notables like Eickhorn, Puma, SMF, Alcoso, etc.
This is a typical Kriegsausgabe (War Edition) wedding presentation edition of Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler in the 5 x 7-1/2 inch, half leather binding with gold blocking on the spine. The front cover is emblazoned with the coat of arms of the city of Solingen which feature the parapets of a castle above a blue shield with an anchor and two swords on it.
Between the front end paper and the title page there is a special page showing that this specific example of Hitler’s famous best-seller was presented to Ernst Plumacher and Anna Möltgen on the occasion of their wedding on 10 November 1944 in Solingen. At the bottom there is a facsimile signature of the Oberbürgermeister of Solingen.
As usual there is a frontispiece portrait of Hitler facing the title page. The two pages are advertising for other book published by the Central Publishing House of the Nazi Party, Franz Eher Successors in München (Munich), Germany. Printed by August Pries GmbH in Leipzig.
This is the latest example wedding presentation edition of Mein Kampf we have ever seen. A statement on the back of the title page says that it is from the 850th edition printed and that there were then over 10,190,000 copies of the book in print!
and several other original Third Reich editions of Hitler's best-seller.
