This is a very nice example of the 5-1/4 x 8-1/2 inch, 232 page heavily illustrated hard cover biography called Mölders und seine Männer (Mölders and his Men) by Major Fritz von Forell as published by Steirische Verlagsanstalt in Graz in 1941.
The young Mölders was a born pilot whose talent was awakened during the Spanish Civil War where he flew with the Condor Legion against the Communists. He went on to far greater fame on the East Front where he achieved phenomenal fame and became the first German soldier to receive the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Swords and Diamonds.
His short but brilliant career ended at age 28 when the plane he was a passenger in crashed on landing at Breslau on 22 November 1941. He was on his way to attend the funeral of his colleague, Luftwaffe pilot Ernst Udet,. He was buried at the Invaliden Cemetery in Berlin, next to Ernst Udet and Manfred von Richthofen.
This heavily illustrated book contains photos of every aspect of Werner Mölders' life, from his childhood, service in Spain and the East Front, shooting a K98 rifle while wearing his Knights Cross of the Iron Cross, with German Luftwaffe General and Luftwaffe Ace Adolf Galland, with Hauptmann Ernst Wiggers of Jagdgeschwader 51, Hauptmann Hermann-Friedrich Joppien, and being decorated by Adolf Hitler.
Please note: there is also a 1941 soft cover version of this book with only 128 pages and far fewer photos.
