This USMBOOKS web page contains different lots of the heavily illustrated news magazine Münchner Illustrierte Presse (Munich Illustrated Press) published by Verlag Knorr & Hirth in Munich. The newspaper was in business from 1925 - 1944. In 1933 Reichsführer-SS Himmler appointed two NSDAP overseers to the Münchner Illustrierte Presse and in 1935 the Nazi Publishing House Franz Eher of Munich bought out Verlag Knorr & Hirth.

Each heavily illustrated 11 x 15 inch issue contained the latest news in photo articles, short stories, sports, crossword puzzles and cartoons as well as advertising from companies such as Agfa, Bols, Auto-Union, Osram, Nivea, Eberhard-Faber, etc.

Hitler after the Night of the Long Knives
LOT 6: consists of THREE issues of Münchner Illustrierte Presse: 12 July 1934 (30 pages,
2 August 1934 (30 pages), and 9 August 1934 (30 pages), the issue published after the death of Paul Ludwig Hans Anton von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg on 2 August 1934. Hindenburg was of course, a Prussian field marshal and politician who served as the second President of Germany from 1925 to 1934.

The 'Hindenburg' issue contains extensive photos about his life, military career and service during World War I, with Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1918, with Adolf Hitler, with his wife and grandchildren, at Tannenberg Memorial, etc.

These issues also contain articles on the launch of the "Admiral Graf Spee", the new head of the SA, Obergruppenführer Viktor Lutze, car traffic in New York, the German Himalaya Expedition, the 650th anniversary of the Pied Piper of Hamelen, the 20th anniversary of the starts of World War I, the 2000 kilometer car race through Germany, political unrest in Vienna and the death of Engelbert Dolfuss, royalty in India, etc.
