Koenigzelt Nazi gravy boat
A SPLENDID PORCELAIN
GRAVY BOAT FROM THE
FORMAL TABLE SERVICE
OF AN OFFICER’S MESS
OF THE NAZI
KRIEGSMARINE
(NAVY)
Koenigzelt GERMANY This is an absolutely genuine piece of German Third Reich Kriegsmarine (Navy) Offiziersmesse or officer’s mess table porcelain in perfect original condition. The white porcelain gravy boat measures approximately 9-3/4 inches in length, 4-1/8 inches at its widest point and stands about 6 inches tall. It is beautifully manufactured of the finest white porcelain with a triple rust colored stripe hand applied around the vessel and its attached saucer. Please note that this rust color trim is NOT applied with a transfer or other mechanical process but actually laid on by hand with a brush prior to glazing the piece!

The outer portion of the handle is made with an embossed diamond pattern to create a surface that does not slip out of the hand. The bottom is marked according to regulations with a dark green eagle and swastika above the capital letter M (Marine or Navy) above the crown logo of the manufacturer, Porzellanfabrik Königzelt, a Schlesien company widely known in Germany during the Third Reich for their beautifully made institutional china.
Porzellanfabrik Königzelt
The ad at the right for Porzellanfabrik Königzelt shows the same logo as the one on the bottom of this gravy boat. The ad was taken from the catalog for the 1937 Leipziger Messe or Exhibition in Leipzig.
