Das Erkennen von Flugzeugen (Distinguishing or Recognizing Airplanes) is a wonderful 5-3/4 x 8-1/4 inch, 52 page softcover Nazi book by pilot Dipl.Ing. K. Haarmann as published by Verlag Franz Heß of Braunschweig and Munich.

Verlag Franz Heß published several instruction books for the Luftwaffe, among them this one using photographs provided by Arado, Dornier, Focke-Wulf, Fieseler, Heinkel, Henschel, Junkers, Messerschmitt and Siebel Flugzeugwerke.

There are comparisons with foreign aircraft such as the Boeing B-17, the Bristol Blenheim, the Fokker D21, Spitfire, Macchi C 200 and many other airplanes of the potential enemies of Nazi Germany.

The book also contains aviation history, information about formation flying, the size of airplanes, wingspan, distinguishing features useful for identification, etc. Beautifully illustrated.
