This is a fine, complete example of the Nazi art magazine Die Kunst im dritten Reich, the June 1938 issue as produced by the Zentralverlag der NSDAP, the Central Publishing House of the Nazi Party, Franz Eher of Munich.  The magazine was called Die Kunst im dritten Reich ("The Arts in the Third Reich") until September 1939 when the name was changed to Die Kunst im deutschen Reich ("The Arts in the German Reich").

The magazine was large in size (11 x 14 inch), huge is scope and right to the end (Fall 1944) it was published at the direction of Chancellor Adolf Hitler himself by Zentralverlag der NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachfolger on fine quality paper using the best available inks. It was under the supervision of an extremely prestigious group of directors that included Reichsminister Professor Albert Speer of Berlin, Professor Richard Klein of the Academy of Applied Arts in München and Professor Leonhard Gall of Studio Troost in Munich. Huge full-page, full-color and black & white photographs dominated the format of Die Kunst. Many of the pictures were never published elsewhere and none were published in a larger format.

This June1938 magazine starts with an article on political graphic art which is accompanied by striking woodcarvings by Georg Sluyterman von Langeweyde. Uniformed Nazi Party members are shown, King Heinrich I above a quote by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, a farmer above a quote by Adolf Hitler and more.

The main feature in this June 1938 Nazi art magazine is on the Reichsluftfahrtministerium or Nazi Air Ministry in Berlin designed by architect Ernst Sagebiel. Large photos show the huge reception hall in the Festsaal of the Haus der Flieger with swastika trim and an enormous swastika in the ceiling, the Honor Hall with huge eagle and swastika, meeting rooms, light fixtures, gold trim on doors, etc.

Other color and black & white images show paintings by Lucas Cranach and Karl Leipold, fine Rosenthal porcelain figures by Lore Friedrich-Gronau, Fritz Klimsch and Paul Scheurich.

The last few pages have fine Third Reich advertising from companies like Rosenthal Porzellan, Indanthren (IG Farben), Staatliche Bernstein Manufaktur of Königsberg as well as tourist destinations and accommodations.

This 81 year old Nazi art magazine Die Kunst im dritten Reich is complete and in nice used condition, no odor. The covers have some discoloration but the content is in very good condition. No odor.
