This is an excellent example of the rare 5-1/8 x 7-1/4 inch, 34 page book Verzeichnis der N.S. Ärzte im Traditionsgau München-Oberbayern or “Directory of National Socialist Doctors in Munich-Upper Bavaria” as published by the N.S. Ärztebund of Munich-Upper Bavaria in 1935.
This very unusual book lists all the Nazi doctors in a large area of southern Germany from Ingolstadt and Dachau to Landsberg, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, to Berchtesgaden, to Rosenheim and Schrobenhausen. It includes all of the city of München (Munich), Capital of the Nazi Movement.
Also included in the book are Nazi dentists, Nazi veterinarians and Nazi pharmacists so that the party faithful would never have to patronize a non-Nazi practitioner!
A superb example of a specific category of Third Reich publications which were sought out and destroyed by the Allies after the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. Very good condition.

This lot consists of 17 related documents all acquired from the estate of a Nazi medical doctor from Berchtesgaden, just a couple of kilometers from the Obersalzberg where Adolf Hitler had his mountain home, Die Berghof.
The owner of these items and the man prominent in the photographs was Dr. Max Roth, whose name can be found in the directory of the N.S. Ärztebund (Nazi Doctors Association) above.
The items included in this lot are :
• Max Roth’s photo Ausweis or identification document (un-numbered) for the Volunteer Medical Crew of the German Red Cross dated 23 April 1934.
• Roth’s photo Ausweis or identification document (un-numbered) for the German Red Cross dated 15 June 1935.
• Eleven photos of Roth in his Nazi Officer’s uniform wearing an Iron Cross 1st Class and a Wound Badge, some photos with a cape and some with a sword.
• Max Roth’s photo Ausweis or identification document (un-numbered) for the Volunteer Medical Crew of the German Red Cross dated 23 April 1934.
• Roth’s photo Ausweis or identification document (un-numbered) for the German Red Cross dated 15 June 1935.
• Eleven photos of Roth in his Nazi Officer’s uniform wearing an Iron Cross 1st Class and a Wound Badge, some photos with a cape and some with a sword.
• Roth’s photo Ausweis or identification document number 56b from the Berchtesgaden branch of the Deutscher und Oesterreichischer Alpenverein (German-Austrian Alpine Mountaineering Club) bearing endorsements for about 15 years from 1930 to 1945. The last stamp on the Ausweis was valid from 1 April 1945 through 31 March 1946! Almost nobody but a doctor on active duty in the Wehrmacht would have paid his dues or the last year of the Third Reich!
• Roth’s daughter Liselotte’s Arbeitsbuch or Nazi permanent work record issued to her on 3 May 1937 (when she was 20) in Berchtesgaden. She worked in the Berchtesgaden Tourist Office and in hospitals.
• Roth’s daughter Liselotte’s Nazi Gesundheitspaß or Health Pass issued to her on 10 May 1938 while she was working as a secretary at Albrechtshaus / Harz.
• Roth’s daughter Liselotte’s Kennkarte or Civilian Identity Document issued to her at Blankenburg / Harz when she was a medical practitioner there in 1940.
• Roth’s daughter Liselotte’s Arbeitsbuch or Nazi permanent work record issued to her on 3 May 1937 (when she was 20) in Berchtesgaden. She worked in the Berchtesgaden Tourist Office and in hospitals.
