| Anklam, for those who don’t know, is the nearest large town of any consequence in the vicinity of the famous Nazi rocket research facility at Peenemünde. Peenemünde itself was never anything but a hamlet prior to the development of the rocket research facility. Anklam was the garrison town for many of those who worked at or protected the top secret V2 rocket base on Usedom island. All traffic between Berlin and Peenemünde passed through Anklam. This rare Third Reich document is in good condition. From the collection of Ray & Josephine Cowdery, authors of the full-color Nazi identity document book, "Papers Please!" |
