Nazi chocolate molds

Third Reich hinged chocolate mold
Nazi Storm Trooper chocolate mould
This is an extremely rare set of Third Reich molds once used to produce chocolate confections in the shape of Nazi SA or SS Storm Troopers and BdM girls for sale to the Party faithful.
They were made by the Anton Reiche company of Dresden, which was probably the most famous manufacturer ever in Germany of very high-quality metal molds for the production of chocolate figures and candies. These molds were made for a company called Magus and are so marked on the bottom. The molds bear consecutive serial numbers 28908 and 28909 and were probably built on a contract for Magus as we can’t find any mention of them in the history of Reiche or any of the Reiche cataloging.

The three-cavity steel BdM Mädchen mold is serial number 28909, measures 7 x 5-1/2 inches by about 1-3/4 inches thick and weighs 1 pound 4 ounces (0.57 kg). The interior of each cavity, front and back, is finely polished and heavily plated. The hinged bottom panel has the name MAGUS in reversed lettering beneath each cavity so that the name appears on each finished chocolate figure. Each of the figures is dressed in a skirt, a traditional BdM 2-pocket jacket, blouse and tie and a BdM beret.

Anton Reiche chocolate figure molds are world renowned and there is a lot of information about them on the internet. There are recipes on the internet to make the chocolate used for figures and specific instructions on how to use molds like these. Molds for bunnies, angels, santas and other figures are common but we have been unable to locate any other Nazi subject molds.
The three-cavity steel storm trooper mold is serial number 28908, measures 7 x 6 inches by about 1-3/4 inches thick and weighs 1 pound 6 oz (o.63 kg). The interior of each cavity, front and back, is finely polished and heavily plated. The hinged bottom panel has the name MAGUS in reversed lettering beneath each cavity so that the name appears on each finished chocolate figure. Each of the figures is dressed in boots, a traditional Nazi 2-pocket shirt with a tie, tie tack, swastika armband and a coffee can style cap with an eagle on the front.
These molds are in excellent, usable condition. Historically they are extremely rare and important examples of the pervasive nature of Nazi images that could be found in Germany during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler. They belong in a museum of material related to the Third Reich, rather than in a museum related to chocolate or chocolate molds. Very, very rare.

Don't miss the original Nazi cookie cutter set in its original box,
