This lot consists of four different 60+ year old two-sided 23 mm (about 15/16 inch) tokens or coins bearing extremely overt Nazi slogans.

The coins were made to be effective pieces of National Socialist political propaganda when they were dropped into circulation in Austria PRIOR TO that country being absorbed into Großdeutschland and the German Third Reich.

In the mid-1930s the independent country of Austria was a battleground for Socialists, Communists, Nazis and others with the outcome often in doubt. The circulation of these coin look-alikes served to call attention to the Nazis and their message when citizens found them in their small change.

Rare, unique and in wonderful condition.
