NAZI MILITARY MARCH COMPASS

Nazi compass
PERFECTLY TYPICAL WEHRMACHT OR WAFFEN-SS
MARCH COMPASSES AS USED BY GERMAN SOLDIERS
DURING WORLD WAR II
The compasses offered here are typical of those carried by officers, non-coms and Landsers of the Waffen-SS, Army and Luftwaffe in all theaters during WW2. From the troops of Rommel’s Afrikakorps to the divisions on the eastern front and the Panzer crews in the Battle of the Bulge, identical compasses were used. Each has a dial showing the directions N, S, O, W. with O for Ost rather than an E for East.
Marsch-Kompass
MARSCH-KOMPASS
This excellent 2 x 4-3/4 inch (open, shown above) compass has no maker’s name and does show just a bit of use. On the front of the black bakelite case are the words MARSCH-KOMPASS S and on the back there is an S in a diamond shape plus the letters D.R.P. for Deutsches Reichpatent. The dial is properly marked N, S, O, W and there is a 50 mm scale for map reading along one edge.

Below the arrow on the inside is original owner information as follows: 191/237 3./FJ REG. ,,BAUER’’ 1944. That information identifies a specific soldier in a Fallschirmjäger or paratrooper regiment (shown below).

Kührt Marschkompass
MARSCH-
KOMPASS
,,KÜHRT’’
This is an excellent little-used Marsch-Kompass in its original box with the original 60+ year old 4-page instruction sheet.

The 3 x 3-3/4 inch box is marked with the name of the former German Army owner, Lt. Krollpfeiffer.

The Kührt name appears on the front of the black bakelite case along with the letters D.R.P. for Deutsches Reichpatent.

The literature says the features of this compass make it ideal for “fliers, artillery men, infantry”. In addition to the normal features of a march compass, this one has a see-through bottom lens for aligning it with a map. It also has a 70 mm map scale on one side.
Very nice condition. **SOLD**

Brass German Compass
ROUND BRASS GERMAN COMPASS
This compass is perfectly typical of the sort of compass carried by average Landsers who could not afford the more sophisticated types offered above.

It is a very nicely made cylindrical brass case about 1-5/8 inches (40 mm) in diameter and 3/8 inches (10 mm) thick. The needle is jewel mounted, there is a lever for stopping the needle and a ring for hanging the compass from a neck cord or lanyard.

Very well made. Very good condition. **SOLD**
